Controlling the heifers’ growth

The Montbeliarde heifers can calve prematurely (around 24 months old) if the breeder can manage the growth stages. Early calving induces a global increase of 3 liters of milk per life day and a better economic efficiency of the milk processing facility. To achieve it, it is essential to measure the future dairy cows’ growth.

We advise you to use our analysis tool (specific for the Montbeliarde breed) based on the chest measurement of your heifers. It will allow you to :

• Diagnose the start stage (0-6 months)
• Identify the appropriate moment for the breeding season (for a heifer, 1 month of age gained at the start of reproduction = 80€ saved in operating expenses)
• Adjust the feeding depending on its development
• Control the fattening in order to optimize the future cows’ performances
